Java
The Java ecosystem is our primary environment. We are experienced and skilled in object-oriented programming, but experience has convinced us of the merits of functional approaches. We are familiar with monads, and they are our daily companions. Frameworks come and go. We can't do without them entirely, but we try to minimize dependencies by weighing up the costs and benefits.

Kotlin
Kotlin is by no means exotic and is 100% compatible with the Java world. It allows for much more functional approaches, and many things can be solved much more elegantly, simply, and quickly than in Java. An exotic interest? No. Fewer runtime errors, faster development, and better maintainability are your cost advantages.

Database level
It may not be the most fashionable option, but for many purposes, relational databases are still the most efficient approach. With the established JOOQ framework, we bridge the gap between Kotlin and Java. Yes, we can also use ORMs/JPA. However, experience has taught us that their complexity and potential for problems tend to cost more than they save in the long run. Our preferred relational database is PostgreSQL.

React
And on the front end? We primarily develop web applications. The application interface is therefore your own browser—mobile or at work. We mostly use React or Svelte for this. As widely used and proven libraries/frameworks, they offer sufficient reliability and community support, thus guaranteeing good maintainability in the future.

Apps
For many purposes, a responsive, device-independent website is perfectly adequate. But sometimes an app is needed—for example, because the device's peripherals need to be used more intensively or offline capability must be provided. Our versatile team speaks both Kotlin and Swift and can therefore build native apps for Android and iOS as needed. And if requirements allow, Flutter and similar tools can be used to develop for both platforms simultaneously (hybrid), which reduces costs.
